Definitely, they can't just buy PATENTS for things that are ALIVE! Patents are supposed to be for new ideas, machines and discoveries! The should be able to buy patents for their genetically modified food, but when they buy patents of plant/animal species that already exist and sue the people growing those species? That's so much over the line I barely understand how they even get away with it! But I do understand, many of those who work for certain government institutions used to work for Monsanto ... the rich really can buy the government, huh?
Also, they don't have to keep their modified food in check. They COULD just plant some of their food in a farmers garden and then sue the farmer for 'growing' their plant. It's like they have cows, don't fence them in, and then sue the people whose grass gets eaten by their cows. IT ISN'T THE FARMERS RESPONSIBILITY!
